February 25, 2013 Aunt Patrice to Job
Dear Job,
First, I apologize for neglecting you after you sent me that wonderful poem and story. I loooooved the poem and posted it on a blog I started last week to save my sanity while I was waiting for the biopsy results on that alien creature that was removed from my head. After over 2 weeks of hell, the doc finally called to say he didn’t know what it was but it wasn’t cancer. Phew!
Anyway, Archie and I went to Houston last weekend to celebrate my remission status and her birthday with Diana and Michelle. We had such a good time. We were certainly thinking of you when we drove through Beaumont. So close, yet so far away.
I loved your story about the laying on of hands, particularly the part where you describe removing teeth from your swollen fists. That conjures up a vivid image, for sure.
I want you to see how you look as a published poet online. Diana’s comment when she read your poem was, “Ohhhh, that gives me chills!!! How wonderful!”
Sorry this letter is so short. I want to get it in the mail before the mail lady gets here.
Love,
Aunt Patrice
